camping at the rim

We finally camped with our Euro Bed last night, along with my fluffy-soft vintage bedding and we loved it... very comfortable and cozy. BUT didn't sleep too well. WAAAAY too quiet. I mean REEALLY quiet!

We drove up to the Mogollon Rim around 9PM after my friend Karen's birthday party at their cabin in the Christopher Creek area. What a fun day filled with great food, friends and fellowship! And what a gorgeous night, a full moon, in the 60's... simply perfect.

We woke up this morning as the sun was rising and we were mere steps from the edge of the Rim. Breathtaking! Have I told you recently how beautiful Arizona is! Well it is!

This is our Chrysler Stow-n-Go van. We have shade screens that we cover all the windows with to give us privacy.

Happy Anniversary to us! Randy & I are planning to camp at the Rim every Anniversary. But next time we need some serious white noise so we can actually sleep!

Awesome! Looks like you had a great time. Sorry you didn't get to sleep much. I find that any time I'm in a strange place I don't sleep well, especially the first night. Sounds like the weather was perfecto! You got to wear long sleeves after all. It's been so hot here this weekend. I can't wait for it to cool down.

Happy Anniversary you love birds.

Happy Anniversary.
I looove this part of Arizona! I remember having trouble sleeping when we first moved from San Diego up to Ramona, although this morning we woke up to some very loud thunder. It looks like you 2 also probably saw some storms today.

Now THAT is the part of Arizona that I love. It's so pretty up there. I love going up to the rim. You are one brave girl...I would NEVER and I mean NEVER be out of that ledge. I was sick looking at you on it. :o) You looked cute, but no thank you. So glad you had a nice time.

Happy Anniversary to both of you.

The views are breathtaking but you couldn't get me to go that close to the edge!

Happy Anniversary--you and your DH are obviously so very much made for each other, you both are very blessed for having met. Love your photos-your trip was spectacular (I wouldn't have been able to sleep in silence either)!

I looked up your blog and am enjoying it very much. You are a wonderful photographer!
My hubby & I celebrated our 26th anniversary this past June. Time flies, doesn't it?
Anyway, I am adding you to my favorite blog list so I can enjoy your stories and pics all the time.

Happy Anniversary! My inlaws live in AZ (Tucson area) and so we visit them occasionally - the state is beautiful but we have yet to go to the Grand Canyon - it's a top priority.

I like the idea of sleeping on the Eurobed in the van with the vintage quilt - definitely cozy but sorry you didn't get much sleep.

And, of course, Happy Anniversary!
