my yellow ranunculus

Yesterday I came upon a yard sale selling potted flowers. Beautiful blooming potted flowers. I had to come home with this beauty. A yellow ranunculus. I love flowers, especially flowers with roots. They aren't going to die... you know, like cut flowers. It least I hope not.

I have always loved Peony and Ranunculus flowers. And then yesterday the Pioneer Woman posted about her love of Dahlias and I remembered that I love them too. Ok, so I love most every bulb and tuber ever created! Anyway she posted some gorgeous images courtesy of iStockPhoto. And I will leave you with one of my favorites. Have a wonderful weekend.

I love ranunculus too, especially the bright pink and red ones. I'm envious that you have beautiful blooming flowers like that in February! My eyes are hungry for bright greens and colors after so many months of dead grass.

My friend and I were recently discussing about how we as human beings are so hooked onto electronics. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as memory becomes cheaper, the possibility of transferring our brains onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I daydream about all the time.

These are beautiful and so strange to see in February- at least from the midwest perspective where we are snowed in-again!
