buttons R art

Get a load of these buttons I found at a thrift store! An artist made these buttons to sell! How they ended up at a thrift store, I will never know! Most of them have $2- 3.00 on the card and I got the whole line of IXTE (love how they give the pronunciation) buttons and pins for only $3.00!! Yes, and 3 gorgeous pins priced at $8.00 each were included! The white basket was a dollar... at the same thrift store, the same trip.
Whatever will I do with these pieces of art... maybe displayed, just as they are. Click the pic and see the detail.

*** Check out the first comment from this post! Is that not a brilliant idea on how to use these artsy buttons! Thank you sooo much Michelle!! Oh and by the way, she is my inspiration! One day I will create mosaic and I will have her to thank! And get this, we are like neighbors! She lives in the Phoenix area too and I just might meet her and see her fabulous work this Wednesday night at the Chandler Art Walk. I can hardly wait! See, I am such a groupy!

  2. Hi Linda! How awesome to meet you. Thank you so much for your visit to my blog and all your awesome comments. Your blog is super. Those buttons are incredible. So you collect Pyrex. I'm just discovering the pink, and I like the aqua too and will be looking for more of both. I see those little fridge dishes sell for a lot on eBay. I love the Gooseberry (I think that's what it is called) design too. Oh My Gosh those Mosaic cupcakes you pointed me to are the best ever. I'm saving for one of those beginning today. I'm adding your blog link to mine and I will be back to visit!!

Those are exquisite! You know even $2/$3 would not be a lot to pay for such beautiful handmade buttons, so you got a great deal.

  4. WOW, Linda, you have such luck! I would have been all over those buttons in a heartbeat, too. Why on earth would anyone give them away??? Goodness knows. They look lovely in the basket, but I'm sure you can make some lovely art pieces with them too when your ready.

...on another note, thank you so much for the heartfelt comments you left me on my latest post. It means so much to me to have the strength from you and other "friends" I have met to carry me through on these dark days I have been having. Thank you for reaching out your hand when I needed it.

  5. Hey Linda,

You could use some for decorations on your thread catchers too! They'd also look great on a simple blouse or vest. Do you want to sell me a few?

Lol @ your sister's comment. LOL!

Great buttons, and I would have pronunciated them wrongly, I'm sure.
