my apothecary jar

I love apothecary jars. But never dreamed I would ever own one! They are rather pricey. (as you'll see from this site)
But low & behold I walk into my little thrift store last Friday and find this 18" beauty for $12.00. You're gonna think I'm nuts... but I decide to wait till it's half-off the next day. I even wait till the store has been open for an hour before I stop in and thank you Lord... it's still there! Whew! I know, I can't even stand to pay full price at a thrift store!

When I bring it home and turn it over, the original price was $39.99! Oh my, I'd say I got a deal!
This week I have it filled with my wooden spools of thread. Who knows what it will contain next week... ribbons, buttons, balls of yarn? The possibilities are endless!
Be sure to clic the pics to enlarge.

  1. OK, first of all Thanks Heaps for coming by. Now that the pleasantries are out of the way.....
TEMPE, ARIZONA! I am totally jazzed about the fact that you are from Tempe Arizona. Have you watched Raising Arizona? Man, I LOVE that movie and can quote so many of the lines..."Boy, you got a panty on your head". "I'll be takin' these Huggies, and whatever cash you got" "Hang on Jr. Momma's gonna take a short cut". "Awful good cereal flakes Mrs. McDunna"....HAH! See?
Sorry, I really didn't mean to go nuts, just happens sometimes. Please just realize an Arizona gal is welcome at my site ANY time. And what if Sweet Home Alabama is one of your favorite movies? (insert Twilight Zone theme song here)
I love the pics of your crafty things and apotecary jar. I really wish my craft space was as well oragnaized and neat as this. I will take a little time now to plunder your sight. Great post! Jennifer

  2. Love those jars too, but I always have a hard time figuring out where I'll put them due to their size and my propensity for clutter already.

Maybe when I have some more time and can get my scrapping room more organized I'll find a home for a few.

    I DO LOVE them though!

Way to score on the jar! I found a small one today at Goodwill for $3. It has a chip in it but no one will be the wiser. I'll keep looking for others - I'm on a mission now.
