I love anything galvanized!
You may remember the galvanized table I transformed HERE.
Well I recently created a space in my back patio,
so I could have a place to dabble in mosaic art.
I've been collecting dishes to bust up for various mosaic projects for years.
And as you can see, my galvanized containers will surely come in handy.
These galvanized totes will soon be filled with broken dishes and pottery...
... and various other tools.
And the weather has finally cooled down so I can now spend time outside in my new space
creating and repurposing. Yes!
I also love vintage sprinklers, which makes perfect sense since I live in the desert
and they were necessary in making Phoenix so lush & green over the years.
And now that most people have automatic sprinkler systems on timers,
I see the old vintage sprinklers at yard sales & thrift stores all the time.
They have that industrial design and charm that I love.
I'll plan a vintage sprinklers post soon.
Watering cans and minnow pails are a favorite find of mine too.
I've never paid more than a dollar or two.
Oh and the display rack was found at a yard sale for a couple dollars.
Thanks for visiting my new galvanized space!
Thanks for visiting my new galvanized space!
I love your collection. My daughter used to live in Tucson so I can remember that this time of year is very comfortable. I'm sure it all looks great on the patio! Congratulations on the new grand-girl! I am expecting my first grand-baby-girl in Feb. and I am over the moon excited about it. take care and have fun...;j
ReplyDeleteI love galvanized, as well, but live in the wet PNW, so have a bit of a challenge. I have to drill drainage holes in the pieces I use for planters, and it always bothers me.
ReplyDeleteI have some old feed buckets (with round holes in bottom front) I would love to turn into a fountain, am waiting for the perfect missing piece to tie it all together. I think the vintage sprinkler is what I am looking for! Thanks for some "gray" inspiration today!
I love all your galvanized beauties. We have a much smaller collection in our backyard in the summer, too. I have two galvanized watering cans, one new and one old, and two old sap buckets. I'm your newest follower.
ReplyDeleteSo cool, Linds! Now that I have the horses her with us, I find myself looking at lots of galvanized feeders. They're awesome.
ReplyDeleteNow, I would really like to see pictures of completed mosaic creations. Start working at your bench! :)
I'm in love with your collection!
ReplyDeleteYou have an awesome collection and thanks for sharing it with all of us at my NIFTY THRIFTY TUESDAYS party!

Linda

ReplyDeleteGreat collection! I too love galvanized. I have two pieces in the house I still have not yet figured out the perfect use for, but I will eventually get it. I used to live in Gilbert, now I am back in the Northeast, nothig like the smell of the dirt after the rain. I think that is what I miss most!
ReplyDeleteHi there~ your collection is delightful! I love galvanized buckets and treasures too- you have beautiful pieces!! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteGalvanized items are a new favorite of mine..I only have a few pieces...but I'm always looking for more! Your outdoor space is wonderful!!

What a great idea for the work table....now I've got to get busy and collect all my galvanized things....thanks again!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your galvanized goodies! What a great work area you have.
ReplyDeleteHey Linda, My little blue metal table on the front patio really needs a mosaic top. If you start working on something I'd love to watch you or even try to work on mine at the same time. I know it can't be that hard...it's just getting started that's the hard part for me.
ReplyDeleteI see that I commented when this was originally posted, but I just had to leave a comment this time around saying that I love this work station. Great pieces and you are sure to get lots of mosaic work done having everything so handy.
ReplyDeleteIcan see that you have browsed many a yard sale, flea, market, antique show to acquire such a collection of galvanized pieces. My daughter would be very envious!
