are the things we remember all through our lives.
Today as I was sorting in the garage, I found a box of old Christmas decorations that I had retrieved from Aunt Evelyn's estate sale several years ago. Randy remembers his Aunt and Mamaw Bean both decorating their trees in pink. They loved pink. So I was tickled pink when I found these glass balls and decorations and wanted to share them with you. Can you believe how vivid the colors still are? You can even see the Ben Franklin price tag of 29 cents!
Any ideas on what I should do with the little trees and angel decorations? They just make me smile!
those are fantastic!!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, those bottle brush trees are TO DIE FOR!! What a lucky find! I think the ornaments look great in the dish just like you photographed them. Maybe you could do something similar with the trees? Or maybe put them in a vase? If all else fails, you can send them to me! LOL
ReplyDeletethose are so fun...you will find some neat way to display them!
ReplyDeleteWhat I think you should do wit them is send the all to me lol! I think I would have got along very well with Mawmaw Bean and Auntie.
ReplyDeleteGah. Blogger Beta comments are not working and it has taken me forever to be able to leave a comment here! Oh man, the trees, I would die to have those trees hanging out in my garage. You could cut the wires off the trees and use them in cloches. (I just did a cloche redo on my blog yesterday.) You could also just wire them to the branches of a tree, like a feather tree. Add some cardboard houses, and you would have a little village in a feather tree. (I think there was a photo of this in the December 2005 issue of MS Living, if you have that.)
ReplyDeleteOh. My. GOODNESS!!! that is a treasure! Seriously, have you looked at ebay for vintage ornaments? You really have a treasure and the fact that they were in the family is even more special.
ReplyDeleteFantastic Christmas decorations! I love the glass balls and bottle brush trees.

Love these and you photographed them so well!
ReplyDeleteI saw a fabulous wreath made with vintage ornaments. Somewhere on flickr. I know that's not very helpful! Sorry!
ReplyDeleteI found you via Sandy, The Reluctant Entertainer. Happy Birthday, BTW! I'm enjoying my visit to your blog very much!
