I love playing house. I love taking what I already have and giving it new life, a new purpose, a new place of honor. And you can be sure this kitchen vignette won't be looking this way for long. Tomorrow it may have a whole new look.
I'm like that.
This steel hat rack was one of my first purchases from the IKEA 'as is' section when they opened back in 2004. And I live a mere mile from IKEA. I know, very dangerous. Anyway, believe it or not, this is the first time the rack has ever been hung. I know! After 6 years it finally has a home... in my new kitchen. And the possibilities are limitless!
I bought the white stoneware container in 'as is' yesterday for 49 cents, retails $5.99. I couldn't wait to get it home and fill it with water and a bouquet of yellow Lantana flowers.
The Old Pal galvanized minnow bucket finally found a home too. Isn't it just the cutest ever! I've seriously thought of using it as a purse. And I still think I might.
Did you know that when you let artichokes flower they eventually dry into these dried thistle puffs? These are over 5 years old and still look great... and add the perfect texture to any dried floral arrangement.
Oh and the blue jean apron was found at my little thrift store for 99 cents. BTW, Tiedemann's (aka my little thrift store) is also a vintage thrift store and they are having a killer sale this Saturday (May 22nd) starting at 7 am- ANY 5 vintage items for $10.00!! Click HERE for location.
