craft stand

I found this 40 inch stand a couple weeks ago at a little thrift store for $4.00. Can you guys help me think of fun and creative ideas on what I could do with it! I want to load it up with fun stuff and put it in the corner of my craft room. And of course changing it often to suit my fancy. (whatever that is!)

As you can see, I have hung various spools of ribbon, twine, hemp rope, vintage seam binding, thread, etc. Tell me your thoughts and ideas, and then I will decide what color to spray paint it. Right now I'm thinking a creamy white and then sanding most of it off, so as to look kinda worn and vintage-y. What do you think?

You could hang seasonal things on it-Easter, Fourth of July, Christmas-how cute would that be?!

I love, love, love it. But, anyway you can hang small signs like: "Miranda's apt: 14 miles", "The Shire: 2,134 miles", "Hobby Lobby: 54 steps" and so forth? That's what we're doing with old picket fence so might look cute with your stand...

That is cute! I'd paint it creamy white and distress it, like you said!
When I first saw it, I thought I'd hang old embroidered linens from it, then realized it was smaller than I'd first thought.....
I think the thread and such is cute!

LInda,
You can also get even more practical and take your small scissors, hold puncher, and various other tools and hang them for quick view and reach. Also, small embellishment types of things can be put in small zip lock bags and hung. But I may be too practical and you are wanting something cute! Great find though.

Lots of possibilities! I like your idea of painting it white & distressing it. Be sure to show us what you decide!

I do like it! What about hanging some sort of creation you've made lately from it?

I just love it and vintage..y sounds great. Maybe vintage hand towels, colorful ribbon, lace dollies, those colonial candles that have the connected wick, doll clothes, and I love the way you decorated it for the craft room. It is always fun to stop by here.

The first thing I thought of hanging on this stand when I saw it was beautiful fabric remnants or your pretty patterned pillowcases!
