containing treasures

I am always on the lookout for fun, unusual containers to house my fun, unusual collections! Like for instance... my dice, my packaged ric rac, cards of buttons, bits of yarn, colorful beads, wooded spools of thread and my IKEA cording. Thinking outside the box will enable you to repurpose an old sugar jar for the IKEA cording, a favorite Pyrex bowl for the buttons, a green pasta drainer for my spools of thread and a wire basket (25 cents) for my packaged ric rac.
Oh, I gotta share one of my favorite unusual container stories. My sister-in-law put a gorgeous floral arrangement in a old white enamel bed pan! Her husband's a nurse!
Do you house a collection in unusual containers? Oh please, do share!

We have a wooden RC cola case that I use for storing. My favorite storage is opening traincases and/or small suitcases and displaying dolls, buttons, books...whatever looks cute in them!

Love all of your storing! And you've got a wonderful craft room. BTW, have you opened an etsy shop yet? I'd love to see about a thread keeper.

I tried to think of an unusual container I have, and the closest I could come up with is that I have a vintage floral casserole china dish that I store what nots in- even a lock of my shihtzus hair tied with a ribbon is in this dish!

I really envy your crafting area. If we lived near one another, I would try to rope you in to teaching me your organizational skills!

OH MY! The rain bonnet cases just took me down memory lane! I had forgotten about those things. I always had one in my purse when I was a child. My Grandmother kept me supplied with them.

Can you still buy them somewhere!??

I wanna come play over your house now!

You have such fun ways of displaying things. I have containers too---but not enough shelving to spread everything out on so it looks more like a hurricane hit the craft room than an inspiring display of bits and bobs of fun items. Yours on the otherhand is just perfect and pretty to look at.
