Lucy & Ethel

You've met Lucy McGillicutty HERE. But you haven't met Ethel. SO, let me introduce you to Lucy's best friend Ethel May Potter. You see, before Ethel married Fred Mertz, she was Ethel May Potter. And before Lucy married Ricky Ricardo, she was Lucy McGillicuddy. (I know, I went and spelled my Lucy with t's) And as always, there's a story. So let me tell you all about Lucy & Ethel's miraculous reunion.

Just a week before my sister Ginny arrived Sunday from Wisconsin, I made a quick stop at Goodwill. Randy was still in South Carolina visiting his brother and I had a hankering for a RodeoBurger at Burger King. And Goodwill is next to Burger King. And it was half-off day at Goodwill. And it's 8 PM. So come on, what could possibly be worth checking out? Well, I had a feeling...

... and I walk in and there she was. A Fairloom vintage dress form from Sears Roebucks. I was stunned. And here's the kicker, she was priced at $14.99. So I paid $7.49! I KNOW! I later googled and found her to sell for no less than $200.00. And I must say that other than missing the top knob, she's in better condition than my Lucy. And I paid over $100.00 for her on eBay.

I was beyond thrilled because I have been telling my sister for years that she needed to get a vintage dress form like mine and I had just found her the perfect one! And because they were driving, they could take her back. Oh my gosh, it was so fun surprising her with Ethel. And Ginny loved that I named her Ethel!

But you can be sure that we took oodles of pictures of Lucy & Ethel before Ginny left with Ethel this morning. Ethel will be missed, as will my sister Ginny, because you can only imagine how much fun Ginny & I had these past 5 days together. I can't wait to tell you all about our adventures. So stay tuned.
